She goes as far as suggesting that they do not go to the races and just do something else instead. looking at the analytical approach when it comes to this story, the two approaches I could think would be a Reader- response approach and a Formalis t approach. When winning the Readers- respo! nse approach I look at how Henri a tall-stalked self indulging man who looks to bet on the races. Henri deal you escape to his and Jeanne world when it came to relationships and compromising. You could feel the disconnect, between Henri and Jeanne when it came to Henri wanting to go to the races and Jeanne wanting to go as well.
